Bar Restaurant La Torre takes its name from the adjacent medieval watch tower (now a museum) and fronts onto the main square of Alcalali. The main square, or Placa de Ajuntament, is the backdrop for all the important events in the village. Weddings, Baptisms, Communions and Fiestas all centre on the Iglesia de la Natividad de Nuestra Senora (village church), next door to Bar Restaurant La Torre.

Bar Restaurant La Torre was converted around 10 years ago from the village theatre, and now provides 400m2 in three distinct spaces: 30 covers in the main Bar with plasma TV, 30 covers in the dedicated Dining Room and, in the summer, 50 covers in the main square. Plus, on the first floor, a Theatre/Function room with a stage and space for an additional 70 covers. Click here to see video of a recent gig at La Torre. Alcalali occupies a very special location on the northern Costa Blanca, just inland from the up market coastal towns of Javea, Denia and Calpe, in the beautiful Jalon Valley.
The Valley is an established gastronomic destination, and at the weekend visitors from the coast come to enjoy the many restaurants and Bodegas (wine cellars). Alcalali is spoilt for choice for beaches, with a wide range within 20 to 30 mins drive; from Calpes two beautiful beaches, overlooked by the Penon de Ifach, to the sheltered coves around Moraira, to the busy Arenal at Javea and the quieter wider expanses around Denia. More info and Web cams.
Fiestas are when everyone in the community lets down their hair. There are processions, concerts, shows and fireworks and the whole village dines, dances and socialises together in the village square.
Early in year the Jalon Valley is filled with enchanting almond blossom attracting hoards of visitors by car, motorcycle, coach and bicycle, and then throughout the year the Valley is one of the main destinations for tourists exploring the Costa Blanca inland. On Sunday mornings the village regularly fills with cyclists on tour inland from the coast to the spectacular climbs nearby. The village is equidistant from the cities of Valencia and Alicante (approx. 1 hour) where both airports offer discount and scheduled flights. Both cities offer top brand shopping and world class cultural and sporting events, e.g. Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Americas Cup in Valencia.
